THE TRADER

Up at six , on the phone.

Not a minute to call my own.

Figuring out complex deals.

Gobbling unpackaged meals.

Too little sport and getting fat.

Whilst living in a pricy flat.

The computer screen reflects the price.

of Brazilian coffee or uncooked rice.

Out of the blue the prices fell.

The word is out, it’s time to sell.

Quick flog the flat, the car, the boat.

To stay a further day afloat.

Commission gone, it’s time to flee.

From that gruesome world i’m finally free.
